Touriga Francesca (also known at Touriga Franca) is a cross between Touriga Nacional and Mourisco Tinto.  It is one of Touriga Nacional’s dancing partners in Port wines (which are usually fortified to produce sweet intense dessert wines). Touriga Francesca is much like Touriga Nacional in that it requires rocky terrain to help control the yield although its yields tend to be higher than Touriga Nacional.  It is often trained lower to the ground providing more wind protection to protect the delicate flowers.  Touriga Franca tends to be lighter bodied than Touriga Nacional and less concentrated.
