{"id":3817,"date":"2024-08-30T00:56:11","date_gmt":"2024-08-30T00:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grapestogrow.com\/staging\/5327\/?p=3817"},"modified":"2024-08-30T01:00:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-30T01:00:51","slug":"chenin-blanc-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grapestogrow.com\/staging\/5327\/chenin-blanc-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Chenin Blanc Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">Though, I think the best Chenin Blancs are coming from South Africa, where more than half of all Chenin Blancs worldwide are produced, I still associate Chenin Blanc with the French.\u00a0 My favorite restaurants are French.\u00a0 I rarely order the entr\u00e9e\u2019 though.\u00a0 French restaurants have the best hors d\u2019oeuvres and desserts.\u00a0 At any restaurant I go to, I always look at the dessert menu first and then decide what I\u2019m going to eat to see how much room I need to make for the dessert.\u00a0 If I want two desserts then I eat salad and a veggie side or an appetizer that has a lot of veggies.\u00a0 Anyone can make chicken or steak so it\u2019s the patisserie chef that gets my attention.\u00a0 The wonderful thing about French restaurants is that souffles take so much time to make, that you have to order them when you order your drinks.\u00a0 With pleasure, I\u2019ll happily order dessert first.\u00a0 After all, you only live once.\u00a0 There\u2019s a tropical sweetness to warm climate Chenin Blanc, even when made dry with no residual sugar.\u00a0 Thus, it pairs well with goat cheese and of course, figs.\u00a0 I usually opt for Vouvray at a French Restaurant.\u00a0 But, anywhere that has a fantastic wine list with South African wines, I order the South African Heritage Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"590.605744013987\" height=\"310.9792284866469\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXe6kajrRjD6jdIeqRPRZ6sKIy9Qx0EKeMtpeELTCog7AT-_NLU_sGcoHm7tGBKo9aufAS_rDTpOx5Iv4WxaZD4Ba3Ebj-4-rejm42a1S0zhlalnY-3SX19osBiCVCDCNRN7XWAywRSbIfoHi-f1S1cmehY_sqiVZtfPIpeQfhoanW9qPQIWhmE?key=NbzoIJlsiflW2AG2aJsWOA\" alt=\"Goat Cheese Souffles - Distinctive Appliances - For Your Home &amp; Lifestyle\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Goat Cheese &amp; Fig Souffle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">6 TBL melted butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">5 TBL flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">1 \u00bd cups half and half<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">1 cup whipped cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">5 egg yolks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">6 oz goat cheese&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u00bd TSP salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u00bc TSP nutmeg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">1 cup egg whites<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">8 fresh figs poached in port wine and honey then chop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Preheat oven to 450 degrees and butter ramekins.\u00a0 In a sauce pan, mix butter and flour and then slowly whisk in half and half and whipped cream on low.
