French Colombard
French Colombard is a child of the cross of Chenin Blanc and Gouais Blanc. It produces a warm climate grape that is pale green to hints of bronze in the heat. It’s a sibling of the Armanac grape and the original Balzac Cognac grape. It was originally used in the production of the aged Cognacs, however, overtime became popular in American jug white wine, before the introduction of Sauvignon Blanc. It retains its acidity in hot climates with notes of guava.
