Roussanne
Roussanne is a reddish white wine grape from the Rhone region where it is often blended with Marsanne and Viognier. It is one of the few white wine grapes blended with red wines to create floral aromas in reds. It enjoys the warm climates and is grown in California, Washington, Texas, South Africa, Israel, Australia as well as Greece, Italy and Spain. The aromas are like an herbal tea with flavors of honey and pear with high acidity and full body. It is late ripening and prone to oxidation. In Languedoc it is often blended with Chardonnay and Vermentino.
